In the Coronavirus era, cyber crime is exploiting human fear and the spread of the epidemic, in order to convey various types of malware with a single objective: to infect the computers of the unfortunate in order to steal sensitive data or empty bank accounts.

In this Card, we have listed some recommendations for avoiding falling victim to the many scams that are widespread at this time. The main recommendation is to be suspicious of emails with attachments intended to provide information and updates on the epidemic.

Be cautious, even if they seem to come from authoritative sources such as:

  • doctors
  • medical centres
  • banking institutions
